St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Kanpur is a Christian Minority Institution established and administered by the Religious Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of Mary Immaculate, founded by Mother Brigida of Jesus in the year 1649. The school aims to provide holistic education with an aim to imbibe values, discipline, and leadership qualities through life skills based education to mould children to learn together and live together. The Pandora of activities aim at developing problem solving, critical thinking, communication, tolerance and inter personal social skills. To achieve this school has introduced a new wing of NCC – Air Force.
It is one of the oldest CBSE schools providing this special training. Students of class VIII, IX eligible for NCC are shortlisted mainly on fitness ground. In the 2 years tenure, for A – certificate eligibility cadets undergo various interesting training activities like Drill, Range Firing, Aero Modeling etc. Cadets have to attend one Annual Training Camp which is the minimum eligibility to appear for NCC A – Certificate Examination.
The strength of NCC Air Wing troupe is 50 cadets. The Air Wing troupe is attached to 3 UP AIR SQN NCC, Kanpur.
The Air Wing Cadets carry out various activities during the annual calendar to create awareness campaign in the neighboring areas voluntarily for cleanliness program etc.
